Disney’s The Lion King, directed by Jon Favreau, journeys to the African savanna, where a future king is born. Simba idolizes his father, King Mufasa, and takes to heart his own royal destiny. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub’s arrival. Scar, Mufasa’s brother—and former heir to the throne—has plans of his own. The battle for Pride Rock is ravaged with betrayal, tragedy and drama, ultimately resulting in Simba’s exile. With help from a curious pair of newfound friends, Simba will have to figure out how to grow up and take back what is rightfully his. The all-star cast includes Donald Glover as Simba, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as Nala, James Earl Jones as Mufasa, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa and Billy Eichner as Timon. Disney’s The Lion King utilizes pioneering filmmaking techniques to bring treasured characters to life in a whole new way.

  • good message

Defiantly lacks the magic and emotions of the original along with better singing. Loved: the entire plot kind of mirrors Scar and his army of millennials as CNN (fake news)and the liberals promising a better utopia under socialism/communism and it's quick and abrupt downfall as there is no more resources left (or no more hard working people to steal from)
  • Be Prepared

The animation was great. It looked realistic. However, the acting could have been better. I just did not understand the random Italian accent at the end of the movie. Other then that, the story was about the same as the orginal.
  • Meh

It lacked the emotion and depth of the original. I just could not connect with the cgi characters. They lacked the expression of the original. The voice actors lacked emotion as well. When Simba saw his dad fall to his death in the original I heard the pain in his voice as he cried out, I cried too. This one I’m sorry but the voice actors just missed the mark.

Pretty much shot for shot as the original but was nothing like the original
  • An absolute disgrace

This is an insult to the classic 1994 Lion King. Circle of life is bland and colorless. I just can’t wait to be king sounds 100% auto tuned. Be Prepared is ruined by taking out so much of the song, no singing but a speech, and colorless and emotionless. Can you feel the love tonight is basically just Beyoncé singing and during the day. This version of Mufasa’s death is the entire Circus and just flat out laughable. Also, the only reason Disney hired James Earl Jones back to play Mufasa is because he’s black, not because he’s the only one that can play Mufasa that they so eagerly want you to believe. Because if that was their thinking process, they would’ve hired Jeremy Irons back as Scar, more evidence to support this claim is that every single cast member to play the lions are African American. If Lion King had humans present that would be important, but since the original relies on voices and not race this change was completely pointless and useless. also, Beyoncé is NOT an actress! Imagine what you could’ve spent with $20 other than this.....

I do loved this 2019 live action animated classic film to the famous Walt Disney animated masterpiece from 1994 featuring the original songs from the 1994 film featuring two new original songs, Spirit by Beyoncé and Never Too Late by Elton John.
